Mr. Woodley's News

For anyone who has ever spent any time in an elementary school in March, you know March Madness isn't only about tournament basketball. With state testing taking place and glimpses of winter in the rear-view mirror, things get a little crazy around here. Character Counts is in full swing, and I feel the students are gaining invaluable experience into becoming people of character. The Character Counts committee is in the process of planning a community 5K/Walkathon. For the serious runners, there will be trophies and a great opportunity to participate in an event in our backyard. If you are not an expert runner (like me), please come and walk the event and have fun with us. And if you just want to have fun and support a great cause, please come out and enjoy the, hopefully, beautiful weather. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Pearl City School playground equipment renovation. You are probably asking why I am talking about an event that isn't officially scheduled yet, right? I know some people will want to train for the event and some others may need to dust off their walking shoes. Whatever your reason, please watch for more information and consider becoming a part of the event. We will not be participating in Jump Rope for Heart this year to maximize the local benefit from the 5K/Walkathon. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
